Took the photo of this book at a nuclear bunker near where I live. It's a very eerie place - full of fantastic old skool technology.
The illustrations at the bottom of the image are from the 'Protect and Survive' booklet which contains loads of good ideas on how to survive a nuclear holocaust. The happy chappy on the left is taken from my collection of 1950's knitting patterns (well, it's nice to have a hobby) ...in which all the male models are either smoking ciggies or pipes. But there's some lovely knitwear ideas in there. |
